Hi guys, I've just tried starting up my Vostro but I was suprised it asked me for a password on boot, anyone know if this is a known issue? I've recieved the laptop yesterday and was working perfect until then.

    Thanks :(

We cannot help you bypass a security measure. Contact Dell, and they'll take the notebook and fix it...then ship it back to the registered address on the account.

If they swapped your motherboard it is possible that they used a 'used' BIOS chip that has the previous owner's password on it. Again, Dell has to help you there.
