I'm considering buying an external 19" - 23" Dell WFP monitor for my laptop. On Dell's site, two models with the same screen size can differ greatly in price. For example, the E207WFP and the 2007WFP are both 20-inch flat panels, but the 2007WFP is $80 more. They both have the same maximum resolution and image contrast ratio; the only difference I see is in their response time.

Also, I'm am a college student, so can I get 12% off through EPP? Or is there another way to get a better deal than Dell's retail price?

The E207 uses a 6bit (or 18bit...as in three 6bit channels) TN panel screen. It has a high response time, but the image quality is a little lesser. The 2007 is an S-IPS screen, which has slightly higher response times but the colors are all 8bit and the viewing angles are very good. S-IPS is generally considered to be the "best" LCD technology around right now.

Unfortunately, Dell's EPP discounts do not cover LCDs. Best to hunt for coupon deals and the like.

You could always get a refurb panel from the outlet at a discount if you were really needing to go cheaper.

... in addition to what is said above ...
the E207 doesn't swivel left and right and don't have the side USB ports either.

I have one though and they are pretty great... (considering I had a 14.1 inch LCD monitor before).
