    Hi guys

I have a studio 1737 and my 17" wuxga fl and glossy screen is broken. I've contacted someone at ebay and i have the opportunity to stick to the same old one or go for a MATT one

Atm i have this one and can buy the same again : LP171WU1(TL)(A7) from LG

    Or

I could go for a MATT from LG : LP171WU3(TL)(A1)

What do you think ? I was very happy with glossy though I remember having to close all my windows because of some ****** reflections. I'm gonna use it mainly for watching dvds and play some old games. However i ve heard a lot of good things about MATT and im thinking maybe this is it maybe i should try a change since im gonna be charged the same price.

Hope you can help me :)

I mean, this is really a matter of personal preference. There's probably no reason the other screen shouldn't work if you're asking about compatibility. In general if you can control your lighting (at home), you might prefer glossy; if you can't control your lighting (at work), you might prefer matte. But again, it's all personal preference.

Its not a matter of compatibility, both will work.

I've never experienced a MATT screen, though after reading on this forum that the version (A1) they are willing to give me isn't the best one im thinking of sticking to glossy...

I've watched videos at youtube but cant still get my mind to choose though it seems for what i'll be doing glossy is the best

I thought I would hate glossy (on my Alienware) but it's fine inside as it is a desktop replacement. But outside it would be painful. Also glossy makes the screen more vibrant, especially for RGBLED panels.
