    Hi,

So I purchased a Dell 5577 few months ago.

AFAIK you can purchase warranty extensions within 3 months (or so) with Acer(old laptop has a sticker that says warranty extension 2y). They basically sent me parts like HDD if they failed. Is this the same with Dell?

What is the difference between an extension and an upgrade? These are the choices in the form I filled out in Dell's website. I think I'm pretty tech savvy enough that I don't need support such as 24/7 phone support, etc. Anything software related I can deal with, like reinstalling the OS, update drivers, etc..

What I basically need is Dell replacing my HDD, RAM, fans, etc. when they go kaput. I can do them myself as well if they send me the parts.

Anyone know if Dell has that specific option, or do I have to get the whole package of software and hardware support.

    Thanks
