Greetings. I purchased a Dell XPS M1730 a little over a year ago. The reseller transferred the warranty and this was evident by tech support provided in the first few months of ownership. I recently contacted Dell due to my Nvidia Geforce 8800M graphics card not being disabled by Windows. I assume I have a physical problem with my card. Dell now says I do not have a warranty, that it was never transferred. I pointed out the early tech support and the fact that I know for a fact the warranty was transferred by the reseller. Dell tells me to recontact the reseller and again have the warranty transferred. The reseller is out of business.
Am I up a creek without a paddle or is Dell sandbagging due to the onslaught of video problems with XPS M1730's? Thanks.

I plugged in my service tag and as stated above, it says:
"There are no service contracts or warranties associated with this system."
I can assure you just after I purchased the notebook for $4k, there was a warranty in effect that had been transferred to me. Now there is not and Dell is playing a guessing game with me to name the original purchaser who the reseller purchased the notebook from. I don't have that information. I provided a copy of my original receipt to Dell but am stonewalled without the name of the original purchasing company.
Ideas?
