I just ordered a Dell Vostro 1400. Was a good bargain IMO. Ordered with 1 year standard warranty. I travel frequently and learned I may be redeployed. Is the warranty transferable to a new location if I can provide proof of move? I already read lots of threads about having the 3 year warranty same day service in order to be able to transfer but also conflicting information on whether the staandard warranty is transferrable. I am in a country that sells the same model if that matters.

best to call DELL and ask them, cos they're the ones who will be dealing with any warranty issues...

Thanks but I dont have time to all and need info from others.

The only transferrable warranty is the NBD warranty (if I recall correctly) and its all described on the Dell site. No other is transferrable.
I do know the one year standard is not as i ran into that problem personally once upon a time. -

NBD with or w/o Complete Care? 3 year mail in wont do? Thanks!
Can the warranty be upgraded to NBD at a later date? If so is it more expensive at that time than it is at time of purhcase? -
2) apparently not
3) yes
4) no, not unless you order it several months after your original warranty expires
And HOW can you not have time to call DELL and ask these questions? If you call early morning (like as soon as they open), then you will be speaking to someone within 3 minutes, and you will be off the phone within another 3 minutes....how you dont even have 6 minutes for a phone call, but you have all this time to spend asking here is beyond me! -
