I just ordered a m1530 xps, well.....it just arrived actually, and my mom wont let me open it until christmas. The problem is, by then, the 21 days will have run out. Im just curious, the one year warranty it comes with will fix things like wobbly laptop and dents and such right?

I think Dell would be fairly understanding if there were a problem and you told them that it were a gift which you just received, thus you just noticed the problem.

It's one of those maybe, maybe not questions. If it's a manufacturning defect then yes your base hardware warranty should cover it. For things such as a wobbly base and other hardware defects. However, if it is something you cannot fix on your own, be prepared to mail in your laptop for the parts and repairs.
On the other hand, if your laptop say got damaged from shipping and you're passed the 21 days you may be out of luck. Not to say that Dell won't make an exception.
I would suggest you talk your mom into openning herself if she won't let you. Tell her to check for any visible defects and to sit it flat and make sure it is flush with the surface. -
i got a good report card soo my mums gonna let me open mine when it comes (the 17th) lol
