Where are you originally from?

Im from Germany.

It is not worldwide, you would have to get it serviced in the country you purchased it in. That said, if you purchase the Next Business Day On Site service plan warranty for 1 year or more then you would qualify for international coverage:
http://www.dell.com/content/topics/global.aspx/services/en/prog_portables?c=us&cs=555&l=en&s=biz
The warranty upgrade is available only on business laptops though, not Home laptops, so you'd need to be purchasing a Latitude or Vostro. -
I have experience with different laptops that were bought in US and were serviced in Europe without international warranty (IBM, Sony, HP).
Normally if you call service center in the country that you bought laptop - they can (and most likely will) send you to the service center where you currently are (just explain that you need laptop for work and can not go back to germany just to fix it). It does not cost them money - and they like to keep customer happy - so why wouldn't they? -
I have an m17x, from the united states, and i live in Middle East, i was told that if you get 3+ years its international. However when i called Dellienware to fix my laptop, they said that they don't service it world wide but when i took it to Dell they did take it into service.

I'm not sure about other places but in I know in Canada and US, if you get 3+ years warranty, it will be covered internationally.

It's a 3 year warranty, mostly on Latitudes that qualifies for "International" service. In reality, it's not all countries.

According to the Dell FAQ only certain programs cover International warranty
http://www.dell.com/content/topics/.../learn_more?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~tab=2#faq9
I've read through the U.S. basic warranty agreement and see no mention of International service, so if it's not there they're not obligated to service a laptop internationally. That said, a specific country may do it anyway depending on the service depot.
Each country, and even states/provinces, have their own rules and regulations around consumer warranty rights so what is true in the U.S. might not be true in Germany, I'm just stating what I see posted on the U.S. site and we an only assume that's the official word from Dell here.
Dell Warranty, is it worldwide?
