What does this do exactly? Should I get it?
Thanks

It enables Bluetooth wireless technology. An example of this is many cell phones contain the technology to connect to accessories like headsets or to high end car's stereo systems. It can connect ur cell phone to your computer, however cell phones arent the only t hing that use bluetooth, some wierless keyboards and mice use this technology too.

Also, you can use Bluetooth to establish small Personal Area Networks (PANs) with computers and devices (that are also Bluetooth enabled) nearby and do it in a far simpler way than Ad Hoc Wireless...

Im surprised myself what this guy's apparent problem is.

Hmm yeah gotta agree that WiFi is more power hungry than Bluetooth and hence Bluetooth is more commonly seen on mobile phones than WiFi

I use the technology to stream my music to my Bluetooth headphones. From both my Dell notebook and my Sony phone.
It's fantastic. One less cable in my setup is always a good thing as far as I'm concerned. -
it seems Dell 360 BT support 2.1 EDR which is much faster than 2.0, but can BIOS accept 360?

And the Bluetooth Standards Body

Both say BT 2.1 is all about reducing power consumption and making pairing easier... Neither one say anything about any increase in transfer speeds... -
got that impression from the following paragraph
"This 2.1 release is another step toward a much higher data rate version: the Bluetooth SIG long ago said it would work with the WiMedia Alliance to use ultrawideband technology in the next Bluetooth spec. The range won't necessarily change (commonly 30 feet, but as much as 300 with industrial radios), but the speed could jump up to what UWB is delivering for Wireless USB, a maximum of around 480 Megabits per second (Mbps). The current Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR specification tops out at only 3 Mbps." -
