I am buying an inspiron 13, and I can choose either the 1395 802.11g mini-card, or the 1505 wireless-n mini-card. What is the main difference between the two?

Get the n one (the 1505)!

Although 802.11n still in draft phase right now, it delivers higher throughput than previous g standard. Even if you don't have n wireless access point/router to connect to, at least it will be usefull for the future. And it's backward compatible with g standard.
