I do not care about draft N or not, just why would Dell even offer 2 different wireless card options? Doesn't anyone who would want wireless to begin with have the same basic desire to make it work as well as possible? Even if it is 20 bucks more... or 20 bucks less?
I am of course currently speaking of the machine I ordered, the D630, but the option exists on most of not all Dells I have priced out.
Thanks for any insight into this. Depending on the general consensus, I may have to switch the one I ordered.

Many say the Intel ones are more reliable, and have better compatibility with standards and other equipment. Also, if you plan on running *nix or something you will need Intel. However, Dell cards have more settings available to you as well...but personally, Intel 4965AGN here

I got the Dell card. Why? Because so long as I get some signal from a basic B or G router, I really don't give a crap and I'm sure the Dell will pick up signal just fine.

I got a dell card cuz I didnt plan on using linux at the time. Definitely getting an intel card next time.

I got the Dell card. Don't know why. Just saw it and the Intel card (both the N mini cards) next to each other and clicked Dell without even thinking. I probably won't be using the N for a while since my school is still going to be on G routers for a couple of years. I doubt I'll be disappointed.

Intel's cards have a bigger brand reputation.

Thanks, I will stick with the Dell. Clients that I have worked with have that and it works fine. Dave
