Is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions about what to do?
I ordered an Inspiron 1721 pink on July 15. The ship date keeps changing, (the newest one is September 12) and my daughter, who is a college freshman, needs a computer. This morning I received an email saying my order would be automatically cancelled, which is fine with me. To make certain my credit card wouldn't be charged, I sent an email to the address in the cancellation notice, confirming my cancellation. Six hours later, when my order status still said, "In Production," I telephoned to cancel. The first person I spoke with (who answered the telephone number on the initial cancellation email) said he lacked the authority to cancel orders and gave me another number to call. Since then, I have been on the phone about 40 minutes with no luck.
(And this is after someone on the phone yesterday told me my computer was boxed and ready to ship.)

Well, you could always refuse delivery of the shipment (when it arrives).

Just an update: FInally someone said my order was officially cancelled. But the person said he couldn't give me any kind of verification number or cancellation number. So again I just have to wait.
-
Another update: The Order Status screen finally does say, "Cancelled." Now, I just need to make certain my credit card company knows.
