Has anyone had problems with screen brightness on their Xps when the mains electric is unplugged.
The brightness on mine drops considerably when under Battery power. It is so bad that the brightest setting on battery power is equal to the lowest setting on Mains electric power.
Dell refuses to see this as a problem. Anyone with their experience will halp me add support to my claims that there is something wrong with this machine.
    Appreciate your responses

This sounds like the notebook's power saving feature built into the BIOS. It saves battery power when unplugged by reducing the brightness to a low setting. If you want to turn it off (though I don't recommend it), there's an option to in the BIOS.

In mine, maximum screen brightness on battery and main power is same. I haven’t done any changes in the BIOS related to screen brightness.

The brightness drops to save you battery power. If it was real bright your battery will die faster. You can change this in the settings

what argument? You dont have the setting, so thats why its dropping in brightness.
