    Hi,

    I want to buy a Dell laptop (XPS 1330) . I was reading lot of forums where in their are complaints about the CPU whine in the system .

    Before I actually place the order , I would like to know if this issue has
    been fixed ? .

    No, unfortunately it is still present in a number of systems. Bios and mainboard revisions do not seem to have fixed this- it is apparently an design flaw of the intel chipsets used. It does not affect all of them however, and in many cases is not actually that noticeable unless your face is planted against the screen.

    It is really a tossup as to whether you will get the whine or not. I have one of the first systems built, and mine does not have any whine. I got lucky, that's all there is to it

    Got 3 units one with Intel video the others NVIDIA 8400M GS no issues as yet.
    Intel one is the oldest had that since Aug.. And still happy :) Newest one has BIOS a07 the others A06 BIOS
