    Hi.

Stuck between these 4. Little bit of information first though

The last two laptops I had were 15.6/5" screens and this is my preferred size, however the 17" screens have a much better resolution, and I will most likely be using my laptop for some coding and watching films, as well as gaming (occasionally, and the games I will play are supported by the HD 6630M/525M).

I leave my laptop at home most of the time (I will take it out occasionally, but I have an old Toshiba I usually carry around if needed - although that may be because I didn't like the Vaio I had) so maybe the 17" will be better. The only thing is, when I use my laptop at home it's usually on my lap while I'm watching TV or whatever, so will the 17" be too big and chunky/heavy compared to the 15"?

Another big reason I want a 17" is because of the numpad on the keyboard (not a huge deal but is a nice feature)

Anyway, here are the four options. Obviously the XPS 17 is the best, but it's a lot more than the others, plus the XPS laptops are ugly and look big/chunky.

I think the XPS 17 is too much actually (£100+ more than the rest) but I'll leave it here anyway

The XPS 15 has more storage than the 3550, and a bit better GFX card (GeForce is better?) however neither of these should bother me too much

I guess it's down to build quality? The Vostro should be better as it's in the small business range as opposed to home? If the GFX/RAM don't bother me too much should I just go with the Vostro?

Anyone got any reasons why I shouldn't go for a certain one?

Oh, and I quite like the look of the Vostro 3750...how much bigger is it than the 3550, would I definitely notice the difference using it (as opposed to the obvious difference on the screen)?

    Thanks

Vostro is Dell's no-frills line, Latitude is the business model. If you even remotely think about gaming, take the 17". It all depends on you, if you're small and weak it might be too much to handle (physically). For me, using and moving a 17" laptop is a one-hander and there's no way i'd go to anything smaller/technically underpowered. Besides, the wider the laptop, the easier it is to keep on your lap.
