You can mail me the difference, if it'll make you feel better...
-
It looks fine to me. My buddy just ordered one exactly like it for that price.
-
Yea, Dell XPS isn't what it used to be. XPS systems used to be the premium systems, but now that's been replaced by Dell's XPS "Gaming" systems, which makes the current XPS line equivalent to Dell's old Inspiron line and current Inspirons are just purely budget PCs.
-
Well they do indeed sell you a heck of a hardware configuration for the price, I have found that with my M1530 all the minor annoyances probably make that low price justified. While I am basically happy with my computer so far, I could see how many others would NOT be, despite the comparatively lower price.
-
Seems high to me, but thats because I got mine for $909 with pretty much the same spec's but a higher res display and a smaller hdd...
I got in on the epp crazyness at the end of last month! -
You guys will probably hate me when I mention the price I got for XPS M1530.
$1620
Dell M1530 Blue
T9300 2.5ghz Cpu
WUXGA LCD
Nvidia 8600GT
4GB RAM
160gb 7200RPM
DVDRW
Intel N Wireless
3 years on-site warranty with complete care
with all usual stuffs. -
-
ins grateful for dells coupon code for 25% off. If it erect for that you'd be saying its too expensive.
-
I ordered during that sale yesterday too. Your price looks fine compared to mine, which was $1580 or something. Same CPU, RAM, hard drive and graphics. I only got the 1650x1080 display, but I had Vista Ultimate, the Intel N Card, and those Bluetooth Headphones to jack mine up.
I think yesterday's "Monday" sale was pretty good. I'm sure lots of guys get better deals, but it was something like $200 cheaper than what I'd spec'd out only the day before. -
-
hopefully we will have orders delayed long enough for them to add wsxga led LCD option
-
As far as delays go, mine has entered the Build stage already, just ordered yesterday. Does this mean that all the parts are in stock for my configuration, or can I still possibly see a delay after it enters Build?
-
It all depends; I've been in the build stage since the day my order was placed.
-
How many stages are there? I am in the production stage. Is there any way to change the order? I want the LED instead of the HD display.
-
I don't think you can just change the order. You have to cancel your current order and make a whole new one.
EDIT: here's a thread on dell's production stages

I don't think you can change an order. I think you need to cancel and start over with a new one. -
Haha i paid $1650 after tax and i got
T9300
WXGA+ LED LCD display
4GB RAM
250gb 7200rpm HDD
DVD RW
Intel N
4yr Onsite Warrenty/Complete
and ofcourse will all the usual stuff... -
This is wierd. $500 bucks off? Is there some catch? Are they coming out with a new replacement with montevina soon?
-
Seems right. I got a system with higher specs for just a few dollars more. They have good sales here and there.
-
I redid the order with an LED screen and the expected shipping got bumped up a week. :/ Are they in short supply of led displays? How long can I expect for them to ship it?
-
Probably a month from your order date. Mines showing up as June 15th X_X
-
Sounds about right. I'm excited for my M1530 to get here. I was at best buy another day and saw a M1530 demo. The thing is sick..
-
I've only seem images of it, havnt been able to do any hands on. Waiting till mid-June to get it kinda bothers me a lot considering half my summer is gone. My hope is that the delay is heavy enough for them to add LED backlit for higher resolutions so that I can change my order which would give me something out of all the waiting.
-
I just ordered mine, see below or in my sig, and shipped next day air for $1283.47 total, thats a pretty good deal..
T9300, 250 HD, LED LCD, 2GB RAM (gonna upgrade to 4GB), 256 8600M GT, Intel Wireless-N, only 1 year of warranty but i dont need more than that.. and all the usual stuff..
ESD is an over estimated in most cases, and the laptop should ship anytime from 1 week before the ESD, so if your ESD is 5/28, it might be shipped as early as 5/21, and you would be getting it a week early.. It doesn't take 1 month to build unless you got something that delays it, it usually take 2 weeks..
I mean, they can't tell you that it will ship on 5/21 because JUST IN CASE they cant make it, it will be their fault and they will get blamed for it and lots of customers will be angry, but if they estimate it like 5/28, then you WILL be getting it early unless you are just having bad luck.
