I just took those pictures to show you what I'm talking about. The quality sucks because it's off my phone, but you get the point. I couldn't believe what I saw when I turned my new Dell XPS M170 sideways and read the logo. Just to confirm that I wasn't seeing things, I went around and asked various friends and family what they saw when I showed them my new laptop. They all seen the same Sex logo that I was seeing. I can't believe that I never seen anything about this before, I wonder if Dell knows what they're selling?

Errr, what do you say to this?

Took me a couple minutes to figure out what you were seeing... :|

However, what do you think Dell would do? Change the design? Or perhaps they'll just hope no one else notices. Alternatively, this might speed up the release of the XPS Gen 3... :p :D

Really, it only took me a few seconds to see it and I couldnt believe it. I doubt Dell will do anything about it, the M170 just came out and why would they want to alter it already. Dell will probably ignor it unless there's an uproar about it, but I dont forsee that happening since as far as I know I was the first to notice it. Now I'm spreading it around so more people can see this flaw.

Oh and for those who cant see it if you flip the XPS logo upside down is says Sex.

I had to look at that for a few minutes before I figured it out as well...I don't think it is a big issue. Never heard of it before this.

One thing is for sure, it was not done intentionally...I don't think Dell even realizes it.

I got a kick out of it and thought that I'd share it with you guys. I doubt that it'll be a big deal, but I dont think that some people like the idea of paying top dollar for a Sex Machine...although some people would. lol

Just make sure that people focus on the laptop's SCREEN, not the logo, and you should be fine. :p

To make it easier, play a game or something. ;)

For some reason, I still don't see it. All I see is a S, upside down P, and a X. Maybe it is just me or something, I don't know. Still, enjoy your new toy. Buying a Inspiron XPS Gen. 2 (now called the XPS M170) is a really smart investment.

Make the P look like an E. The first pic is not meant to put in the rest you can see it if you adjust the p to look like a E.

hey if you change the color of it, then it looks like something you'd see in a window downtown.

The best pic to see it on is this one if you cant see it

Its like a sleazy neon sign where the top part of "e" doesnt light up. If you could get it to flash on and off it would look even better. LOL

You never know, who hasnt wanted an XPS system? Now you know the reason why! Who knows, maybe without this little logo I might not have an XPS M170.

Do you see an old lady or a young lady?

As a matter of perception, I see how see the word sex, but I don't think it's there. Just my opinion, too much worring about nothing.

So if you take the XPS out in the public and somebody looks at your lid while it's open they're going to see it upside down and think you're a bit of a freak. That's great.

hmm, I never thought of that. It would be funny to see how they’d react if they seen Sex. I'd just tell them to talk to Dell for selling me this provocative laptop.

I'm sure all the XPS Gen 2/M170 people reading this are looking at their laptop in a whole new way now.

I'm offended that there's a shape of an hour glass on the back lcd panel. The hour glass is a body type. That body type is usually associated to females. Females remind me of sex. Therefore dell should cease selling the m170. j/k
