Hi guys, I am new here. I know this might be a little too late to post a question about the M1210 but I still want to get it off my mind.

The question is how many of you out there has the M1210 and encountered your CPU usage to be always above 33-34% and never dipping below 30%? The only process that is hogging so many CPU cycles is the csrss.exe process. Any idea on what can I do to help eliminate this problem? No spyware/virus was found in any scans. The CPU in question here is Core Duo T2300E. Operating System is XP Pro SP2.

    Thanks for any help.
    Regards
    Austin

That is unusual. When you are idling it should be far less, mine stays around 5% or less on average and occasionally jumps up and down.

    Something worth checking out.

Well, that link is certainly interesting but truth be told it does not reach 100% usage when i do the right-click function...the typical usage is between 34% to 56% when idling. This does affect my battery life and on occasions, the CPU reaches 100% for up to 10 mins when I am doing nothing!

    Any ideas guys?

Make sure you don't have many programs runnin in the background. Notebooks loaded with bloatware often have a higher processor usage those that don't. Also, try and see which programs are causing this high processor usage.

Well, I uninstalled the McAfee that came with my laptop... As I said before, the only process that takes up the CPU cycles is csrss.exe. And I used the PC-Decrapdifier thingy and removed everything except for the Quickset programme.
