    Hi everyone!

I have a dell xps m1330 with vista home premium installed and have spent
many hours trying to get the MOTU 896 firewire audio interface to work (I need
to record a CD for my school project), however vista doesn't seem to recognize the device(I have installed the newest drivers and firmware)
Now I've heard the Ricoh chipset drivers are a big problem with Dell laptops, however I wasn't able to find a solution to this problem.. Any ideas on what I should do?

yes, just 10 min ago. and it solved the issue. Dell best be watchin the boards/blogs--it has GOT to cost them to send out a tech and motherboard for a design flaw... now on to the video editing! thanks again 24Peter and Pookie!
