    Hey fellas,

    just a quick question..

As the Dell XPS M1330 starts with a 4-cell battery as the baseline configuration, will the 6-cell battery stick out like the 9-cell? Or is it the same size as the 4-cell battery?

    thanks in advance

The 6 cell is flush with the laptop. It just adds .3 pounds to the weight.

Hi sesshomaru and thanks for your prompt reply. What does 'flush' mean?

    thanks again

    Aligned to what exactly?

I was reading the Dell XPS 1330 review on this website and it states in the configuration section that for the review, they used a 6-cel battery. Judging by the pictures, the battery sticks out like an eye sore. Or are the pictures mistaken?

Flush means that the battery does not stick out.

The 4 and 6 cell looks exactly the same.

Only the 9 cell sticks out.

The battery that sticks out is the 9 Cell one. By flush, i meant that no part of the battery is outside the LCD when closed, and is in the same plane as the bottom of the laptop. I guess that's a bit confusing.. In simplest terms, the 6 cell doesn't stick out.

On a side note, I really hate the 9-cell configuration. While I'd love to have it because of the big boost to battery life, it sticks out of the bottom, completely ruining the laptop from an aesthetic POV. I wish they'd done it like all their other batteries, where it sticks out of the back.

So what is the final weight of the 1330 with the 6 cell and does the 6 cell seem to get reasonable battery life?

    Thanks

What I don't understand is that the 9 cell battery was flush on the E1505 before, but on the new 1520 it sticks out. That makes no sense.
