It just ticked midnight on the east coast and Dell Australia are now offering the M1330 in white again. See here
I'm pretty sure it wasn't there when I checked an hour earlier. I just ordered one in black and now off course I'm wondering if I shouldn't change my order.:confused2:

I ordered it not two hours ago, so no issue there. In fact, I think all the colours look just marvelous. In any case, the grass is always greener...

Personally, I'd prefer not to have a choice - then there's no anxiety. Ah, things were good in the old East Germany :)

Anyway, I'm going to cancel my order and get a Sony SZ instead. I couldn't justify the price as they're almost AU$4,000, but I found out they're relatively competitive in the US and lucky me my sis is over there on holiday at the moment.
The Dell is still a great machine and I love that HDMI port, but the Sony is lighter and has longer battery life. Life really is just better without wires.

Well, you can get them from Sony Australia but they're ridiculously overpriced and only come in standard configurations as far as I can tell.
Alternatively, you can order them direct from Japan with an English keyboard and operating system from Conics. Their prices are more reasonable and you can order some cool colours and patterns unique to the Japanese market.

P.S. Getting off topic, I think this thread is finished.

Regarding the warranty; you don't miss much. Sony Australia only offer a miserly one year warranty (as required by Australian law) on their vaio notebooks.
