Hey guys![]()
I'm about to order an XPS M1530 (just waiting on the high-res screen options to become available in Australia).
My current wireless router is compatible with 802.11g and 802.11b. If I upgrade to the Intel 4965AGN Wireless N card, will my current router work with the notebook until I get a Wireless N router?
Is it worth doing this? Will there be a big difference in download speeds?
I am on ADSL2+ and live about a kilometre from the exchange.
Thanks for your time!

Yes, the 4965AGN (note the "G") will be compatible with the router, and if I'm interpretating your question right it will work as well as another wireless card built specifically for wireless g.
Wireless N is said to be a good upgrade with greater range and faster speeds. -
For just using the internet you wont get faster speeds. the only thing n is faster for over g is for transferring files between computers in your home.
