    Lo all,

I have an XPS M170 and have bought and fitted an XPS M1710 lid (the black one) as it looks better.

I'd also like to get a silver keyboard like the 1710 for my 170 but the M1710 keyboard don't have the plug at the end of the ribbon which goes into the motherboard....it apparently just goes directly into the motherboard.

Does anybody know if it's possible to get a silver keyboard for the M170? Or if there is a way to get the M1710 keyboard to work on the M170?

    Thanks,

The only way to do it is by replacing each key from the silver one on to the black one.

This mod was done by someone over on notebookforums....
