I finally received my new notebook the other day and love it. However, I have one thing that's bothering me and that is the quality of images on webpages. They all seem very distorted on my widescreen.

I've tried playing around with the stretch settings but they don't seem to do anything.

    Any advice?

    John

I've done a little more experimentation and the problem seems to be related directly to Internet Explorer. Other applications display things fine (although I haven't tried other browsers).

IE must be doing some type of stretching (which loks really crappy).

If anyone has a solution I'd like to hear it. And please, no Drop IE and go Firefox or Opera or {Insert favorite free browser here}.

    Thanks.

I have a M1730 XPS with the widescreen... the solution for me was really simple...

Use CTRL - (minus) to hotkey reduce the overall resolution once you have IE open.

I've noticed that bet settings for me are " CTRL - " twice once opened and then I'm seeing everything normally.

The really odd thing is that I'm also seeing everything normally if I jump up one setting too " CTRL + " ... it just seems to be distorted if you open it at it's default 100%. Strange...

I'm sure there is a registry key that can be updated to correct this for default actions but I didn't bother to look into that.

Try the ctrl + or - as suggested above. Also check the resolution of your screen and make sure it's set at what you ordered.

If you want to be absolutely certain, download firefox just as test to make sure your comp is fine.
