You know, I don't think this is particularly notable... you look for a Q9200 and a T9800, and they both cost about $300. At the cost of higher overall TDP, the Q9200 is clearly going to be the faster processor overall, and even in single-threaded applications, 2.4GHz is nothing to sneeze at... but at the same price point, some people would just rather have that extra 500MHz on the T9800.
Same deal here. The 720QM is clearly going to be the faster processor overall, but at the same price point, some people would just rather have the extra 300MHz and the lower TDP on the 540M.
