I've just formatted my m1210, installed all the drivers and restarted it. I'm trying to copy some files from a flash memory, but the notebook won't recognize the flash memory. I tried all 4 ports and none of accepted the stick. Nothing happens.

Any ideas? Did I forget something?

Check the USB setting is BIOS and check the cable make sure it is good. If that not help then call DELL.

check the device manager via the control panel, if you have any question marks on the list, you missed some drivers, my first guess would be your chipset drivers, you also need the ricoh drivers

Done that with no results. I don't have internet at work. Maybe when I connect and update the problem would be solved.

Form what I understand, both chipset and ricoh driver are the same driver when it first comes out. maybe the driver file went bad.

Remember to install dell system software first then intel chipset and then ricoh and ...

The best thing to do is reinstall the operating system first and then install drivers.

the richo and intel drivers arent the same, I know for sure the richo drivers control the media card reader, but I think theres more to it than that

Intel chipset driver should update USB controller and port devices. And, richo is the driver for media card reader.

Guys, I've tried everything. I uninstalled all the drivers and re installed them all over. I'm updating windows now, and then I will format again.

Problem solved. Uninstalled, re-installed drivers through device manager.

Which drivers did you reinstall? Most of them? Good for you :)
