I just priced the two systems with equivalent components, like 2gb ram, 1.8 ghz C2D, GeForce 8400M GS, 3-year warranty and accidental damage (7% discount thing) and the 1420 was about 500$ cheaper. I even decided to put in the blu-ray drive and the 1420 was only 80$ more expensive than the 1330. What I don't get is why the 1330 is so much more. The base configuration for the XPS m1330 is a couple hundred dollars more than the 1440 but it seems like the uppgrades for the XPS m1330 are twice as much as the 1420.
This really makes it seem like I should get the 1420 especially if its not going to be much bigger.

BTW, I forgot to add coupons to the 1420, with the coupons, it is 200$ cheaper with the blu-ray drive than the xps is.

You pay more for the fact that the xps is an ultra portableabd you get the xps warranty. Yes you have the blu ray drive in the 1420 but do you have an HDMI output or DVI..pretty useless really if you ask me.
We don't get the the 1420 in the UK but i'd have the xps over the 1420 any day. -
there are numerous threads outlining pros & cons of each....

mattireland It used to be the iLand..
One of my friends has the inspiron and does like it BUT I don't like Dell. I wouldn't go for either if I were you, but if you want to,l go for the inspiron.

if anyone has pictures of the 1420, not from net, id love to see them.
