Dell has cancelled builds of models to be fitted with the ATI HD5470 Graphics card which replaced the 4570.

Dell has not advised the details other than to say it is a "worldwide issue" indicating it is ATI related not Dell (rightly or wrongly.)

I have been advised that my order for a 1557 i7 720QM with the HD5470 1GB card has been cancelled and that I will be advised this evening of the options open to me.

I did not receive an e-mail notification of this so any other users with outstanding orders for units with the 5470 should check their status to confirm.

Was due to take delivery in 7 days so quite pissed!!

So what is the "issue" anyway? Is it a supply issue in that they simply have not received the shipments that AMD promised them, or is it an Nvidia style GPU meltdown issue, or is it something else entirely?

Bump? I assume this is no longer an issue as I can select the 5470 on Dell's website, but what happened?
