Hi, I was reading somewhere that on some Dell models they offer subs? (as in speakers) I didn't know how the sound quality was, or if laptops are even offered with their own sub built in. I didn't think this was possible.
-
l know the XPS M1710 has a sub, and the m90 + E1705 may both have it as well.
-
E1705 does have one for sure, so did the old 9300.
-
by sub we mean 1" "dedicated bass driver" but it does add a much needed depth
-
That is nice to know, especially about the e1705.
-
but the XPS actually has the sub component to it correct? not just the dedicated driver.

Iceman0124 More news from nowhere
I wouldnt excpect it to be much, and a full blown subwoofer under your laptop sounds like a recipie for disaster, exessive vibration and spinning hard drives are not a good combo, I personally dont see the need for fancy built in speakers, there are lots of more sensible options, such as high quality headphones, bluetooth headphones, a set of good speakers at your home location, and there are plenty of good travel speakers, when I have my laptop in public, I either have the sound off, or use earphones, its just polite

Yeah, the "sub" is just an little speaker that only outputs bass. It's helpful, but is by no means what most people would consider a subwoofer

What's worse, is on the M1710, the subwoofer is not configurable as a separate channel. No level controls, nothing. Just like was said, they run a low pass filter on it, probably on the speaker outputs.
Dell built in Sub?
