Yeh that's why I went with an Intel dual core CPU in my desktop build. Heard bad things about AMD's dual core CPU's compared to Intel's.

Lol - If AMD had there architecture running at .45 nm it would blow the Core 2 Duo away. AMD has had much more efficient architecture for a long time.

You do realise that Intel actually went backwards with the Core architecture? It's based on the Pentium III M architecture with certain elements of the P4 netburst - it just performs better due to the smaller fab which gives it much better thermal and heat characteristics.

Until AMD can start fabbing at .45nm then I agree, its Intel all the way.

Yeah as of right now Intel has the better mobile cpus. Like mentioned, it's not that the AMDs are bad, it's just that their stuck in the past in terms of features, one being the die size which is limiting their speeds. Heck look at the Phenom. It was supposed to hit 3GHz, but they barely got out 2.3GHz ones purely because their still stuck in the 65nm die.

but when comparing a computers to buy and u have it down to 2 computers 1 AMD and one intel in general the AMD will be the one that will give u the more GHz.. i believe, if u catch my drift.

AMD championed the "theres more to performance than GHz" so not really the case. AMD are just having to have higher clock speeds to keep up with the smaller Core 2 Duo's over recent history. Historically AMD has had slower clock speeds than Intel but equal or better performance.

Yeh I saw it was already posted after I started this thread, but still figured I'd post that additional source with some more info.
