    Hi,

I have 2 batteries for my D630 notebook, 9cell and 6cell. Now, I have a question about charging them..

Well, I use my notebook at school and usually the both batteries are dead by the end of the day. Now, I come home, with 9cell battery equipped on D630 and plug my notebook in. 9cell battery charges full. Now the question: Can I take out the 9cell battery IF the computer is running on AC power and then put in the 6cell battery to charge that battery as well? The question is that is it necessary to shut down the computer to change batteries on AC power? Can it damage the batteries some way?

Just a question of my lazyness to shut the notebook down, change the batteries and then charge the other one.

Thanks for answer and sorry for my lack of English.

As long as the laptop is plugged into AC, you can pull the battery and not lose any work.

    (psst....why didn't you just try it) ;)

Guys, I am in the process of getting another battery for my D630. When I was 'sold' the computer on the phone (from India) I was told the 6 cell had a 4-5 hour life -no way! Now they are going to send me a 9 cell after considerable moaning. My question, will the standard 65 watt charger unit work with the 9 cell battery or do they need to send a new charger as well?
    Many thanks
    MarkC

no, it won't damage the battery by taking out the battery while the plug is still connected.
