    Dell delivery dates

    How solid are Dell's estimated delivery dates? Do they ever get bumped ahead? I ordered a new Studio 17 the other day and it says in production but the ETD is November 6th. Should I expect it early or is November pretty firm? Its from Dell Canada if that makes a difference.

    I ordered a 1555 at the end of August with a EDD of mid-September. I got it about a week earlier than the EDD.

    Typically get 5-7 days early. BUT there are exceptions. If you are ordering a special configuration and/or cutting edge setup, there will be delays. Delays as much as 30-60 days depending on Dells suppliers. I usually stick with ordering standard setups from Dell for my customers. Keeps it simple.

    The exoctic stuff I order elsewhere.

    Dell's ESD are usually *over projected* to protect Dell from any delays in the production process, such as part delays, etc.

    Barring any problems, there is good chance your lappy will ship ahead of the ESD! :)

    Just keep checking your Order status via online and via Automated dial!

    Dell said they shipped mine on the 30th of September, and on October 2 I got it in the afternoon.

    Guess I'm lucky :D

    I'm anxiously waiting for my 14z which is in production and has a delivery date of Oct 13. Is there any case where the unit arrives before you receive shipment notification?

    I've actually had a few accessories arrive this way!!

    And, yes some lappys can be delivered this way...

    Just call it a Dell fluke..or Dell creativity :rolleyes:

    Your lappy will prolly be shipped ahead of your 10/13 ESD...as that is almost always *overprojected*, anyways!
