    Hello there,

I have the Dell Vista disc that came with my laptop 1420. I have a question. Is this disc pure Vista OEM or it incorporates the programs of Dell also like Dell Dock etc...

    Thank you for your help

It's an OEM installation disc and will not have dell dock or any other applications. You will also have to install a few drivers after installing from the disc.

It is a modified version of the regular disc. It doesn't include dell programs, but you can only install it on dell hardware because it looks at the bios. It also doesn't require activation.

    thnx guys.

I simply wanted to confirm that I will be installing Vista without Dell bloatware from my vista dell disk. So no quickset, no touchpad drivers in the disk, right?

    thnx again

Almost entirely true, but you can still use the disk on non-Dell hardware. If it doesn't read the BIOS, then it will just ask you for your license key like a normal Windows installation. I used my Dell Vista x64 disk to install Vista on my custom built desktop, which uses no Dell parts. After activating the license, it worked just fine.
Correct. The Dell Vista disk is plain old straight up Vista, no Dell software or drivers.
