Hi everyone. The Dell discount system is so intricate....

with specific coupons for Home, Business, or EPP customers; certain coupons that are stackable and not stackable; coupons available on eBay; discounts after purchasing warranty upgrades; discounts for configuring laptops to certain prices

...that it is also incredibly confusing.

I'm planning on getting a Latitude D620 for a final price of about $1385 ($1500 including CA 8.25% sales tax). What would be the absolute cheapest route I could take in doing so; which coupons would I use, which section of the Dell site would I buy from, which warranty should I buy, and what price should I configure the laptop to?

    Much thanks for answering.

Yeah it is a mess cause Dell is offering several things this week.

The coupons that are available on our site are only for the Inspirons, so you don't need to look at those. I would suggest to go to eBay and look for 30% EPP coupon. The EPP coupons are available for the latitudes as well as any other line. The EPP coupons are stackable with an additional 12% coupon as well. The 12% coupon is available on dell's website.

You can order in any of the EPP sections of Dell (university, small business, etc). The website is www.dell.com/epp . I just went there and chose the university section. Then you can go to the laptop section, and on the right hand side you'll see "Notebook Quickfind". Use that to select the D620.

Once you have configured to your liking, you'll enter the EPP code when you place the laptop in your cart. As for warranty, if you want to use the 12% discount, then you'll need to select the 3 or 4 year at home service . Again, once you add the laptop to your card, you should see the 12% discount taken off.

Does that help? It is kind of a mess because some of the coupons are stackable (like the 12% off) but some aren't. Like you can't stack a 35% coupon with a 30% off coupon.

farmerinthedell, I'd be keen on following your experience--I'm getting a discount through Small Business of 12% but taking advantage of the $450 off the Latitude systems till the 12th. (I'm assuming your are too).

    I've spec'd out a system for $1,364.00 and after applying a 12% it comes out to $1,200.32.

If what I am reading is right, would it be possible to get another discount for 30% on top of this?
I've scoured ebay for a latitude coupon but none appear. If anyone would send a link so I can at least see what the listings look like, that would be awesome!!

    Thanks

PS NOte something interesting: if you go through the educational link, the $450 offer dissapears!

That's because the 450 offer is a special offer for the latitudes only because of the 10 days of deals, and I think it is only offered in the small business section. I don't think it is offered in EPP.

As far as I know, the 450 offer is not combinable with other offers - so either you can use it or use a 30% EPP, but not both. The EPP coupons are hard to find. I haven't tried to find one, so I can't help you in that area.

I believe the 30% off epp coupons for any system (latitude and XPS included) have expired as of last tuesday. the epp coupons come out every wed or thurs i believe and last a week...

this weeks are for 20% off monitors, $35 off accessory purchase over 150 i think.

I dont know how often the %30 or similar % coupons come around - i hope often as im waiting on one as well
