Dell discounts, up to %50 off..wierd pricing though...

ok, im not sure if its "cool" to post links to other notebook forums, but here goes..

this guy apparently got %47 off an i9300, which is a hell of a deal. This *almost* got me to return my recently bought i9300 (which i got at %30 off).

I went through the steps he did, and configured the same system as I had already recieved. The "base" system BEFORE any discounts was $2,193.00. Now looking at what I had aleady bought, my system before discounts was $1,845!

Then, after getting the %47 off, or after applying all the cupons mentioned in the thread linked above, the system came out to be $1,350.89 + shipping and tax. In my case, the total is $1,462.70.

Compare this to the system I already bought with only the %30 off cupon, and its total price was $1,276.94 + shipping and tax. In my case, my total was $1,383.95.

So... my 30% off system TOTAL = $1,383.95 Vs. the "47%" off new cupons TOTAL = $1,462.70

It seems Dell is very sly in altering their system prices from day to day depending on which new cupons they are issuing...
i think ill keep my i9300...

nothing new. dell consistently changes their prices and pricing strategies.

 

Ya, Dell tries to be clever that way. If both (different) coupons are released at the same time, the same machine configured the same way, will have very little price fluctuation. I've done similar calculations and configuring as you have.

 

Yeah then people wonder why people get mad at dell. You will order the computer, and the day after you get it, a new better deal comes out.

 

Hahaha yup, that's basically it. You have to be patient and willing to compromise. Or how about once you've recieved your computer, shut yourself out from the Dell website completely and any Dell affiliated website ... But not NTR.com haha

 

Well i followed all the steps that guy posted and it seems to be legit.....the order has fallen through and the overall price did seem cheaper than the reagular :750: off.
