I was wondering if anyone knew what audio solution the Dell e1505 used, since I just purchased one. Is it by any chance the Intel HD Audio integrated solution? Or an AC'97 compliant solution?

On a related note, does anyone know what motherboard the e1505 uses?

    It's the Intel HD Audio.

The chipset for the E1505 is the Intel 945GM.

Thanks for the reply! Where do you usually find information like that? I googled it (albeit lightly), but couldn't find any information regarding the audio chipset or the mobo info...

If you do a search for the Intel Dual Core processor on the Intel website, somewhere in there you can find related chipsets, there are only two that are compatible with the Dual Core chips, the 945GM and the 945PM. I beleive the main difference between the two is that the 945PM can have accomodate a dedicated GPU.

So let me correct my last post...if you order an E1505 with the Intel 950 GMA , you'll get the 945GM chipset...if you get a dedicated GPU aka the X1300 or X1400 you'll get the 945PM chipset. At least, that's what I would assume. If anyone here has got the E1505 with a X1300 or X1400 I'd ask them to download CPU-Z and run it to tell us which chipset it has.
