Hi, I've been lurking for awhile and have benefited from the advice of the members and hope that you might have an answer for my question. Now that I recently purchased a Dell e1505 laptop, which I am very pleased with, I have an issue. When not on AC the screen is quite dark. I have the WSXGA plus w/TrueLife screen set at the highest resolution, 1680x1050. I was wondering if there is some way to have the computer use as much battery power as would be necessary to allow the screen to be as bright as when on AC? How about tricking it into thinking it is on AC? I am not concerned with how quickly the batteries would drain, as I would be in this mode for no more than an hour or two. Since I have the 9 cell battery, I'm assuming, if this can be done, that this battery should give me at least that amount of screen brightness for the approximate time. Thanks for your help.

Fn + up arrow/down arrow (i think you need quickset to be running)

or change it in the BIOS or change it in Quickset
