This is a ridiculous problem that shouldn't be happening. The problem is, when i start the computer, the bios only loads partially. thats it. can't go into any settings options etc. Cant do anything. Before this the computer would wake up out of hibernation for no reason, but i didnt think it was a big deal. Are they related? Anyone know of a way to reinstall/reflash the bios w/o calling up dell and without going into windows? I have a warranty so i don't want to take the computer apart and remove the bios battery, lmk if anyone has a fix. Otherwise i'll have to call dell :/
I've attached a pic showing how far it goes

I had the exact similar problem when I loaded this BIOS. I had to make a boot disk on my other laptop, then flash the old BIOS (A12). I asked a Dell rep to remove A13 from the list of drivers on their site because a few people besides me were having problems with it. It worked perfectly for my roommate however it didn't for me.

I dont even see a Bios update for the E1505 other then the A12 so maybe they removed it already.

The boot disk was made on another laptop then used to get the OTHER laptop to boot up, then they went to the site and flashed the bios.

EDIT: Also, they've removed the A13 BIOS from their website already. I'm sure several people complained about its compatability issues. -
They removed it. lots of people were having the same problem -

I flashed the A13 BIOS without any problems. I've had it for as long as it has been on the site (of course, I guess its off now). I'm not sure why it would do this. Very strange.

what was special about the A13 bios anyways?
-
had to call dell - they're comin to replace the mobo
no more bios upgrades for me -
I have A13 bios. they put it on the site and then immediately removed. But I haven't had any problems yet.

I might be beat up for saying this, but, years ago a person very senior to me in the IT business recommended NOT doing BIOS upgrades unless you are experiencing an issue or problem. I have stuck to that rule since - although I did upgrade my dv2000t since that BIOS update was related to Vista IIRC.
-
Yeah, I'm still sitting on A07 here.
-
I tried A13 (Originally had A07), and when I upgraded to Windows Vista I noticed it was a lot more power consuming so I downgraded to A12.
I needed to upgrade to anything above A10 or A11 to use Windows Vista (I had a Dell DVD from a friend, so I installed it from there without a cd-key.)
Dell e1505 w/ a13 bios - it won't load!
