Do you have a XGA+ (matte) or a UXGA (Ultrasharp, Truelife, glossy) and are you satisfied with it?

Truelife though not entirely satisfied nor displeased.

    So for the time being:
    WUXGA (Truelife) maybe.

im waiting for my wxga e1705 to come in, i figured the lower resolution would be better for games, i have a 1280-800 e1505 with trulife and i love it, i hope the matt screen doesnt dissapoint me too much on the 1705

It's the same with my WXGA+ and my eyes. I think it has to do with our eyes, not with the display. You can turn the general brightness down in your graphics driver, so you don't always have to adjust it with Fn+Arrow keys.

I have the exact same concerns. When your laptop does come in, please tell me what you think of it.

Glossy is the way to go in my opinion...the higher resolution looked like too much for about five minutes now I can't imagine using anything else.

I've ordered an Inspiron 9400 with WUXGA, the reason being I find matte screens sore on the eyes (judging by an older laptop I have and an old matte screen monitor) and the glossy very crisp and neat judging by my current PCs TFT monitor.
The other reason why I picked the 9400s higher resolution was because I was really after a widescreen screen with a good vertical resolution to. As I often read full-screen eBooks (like Google Books) through Adobe Reader. The vertical resolution of 15.4" screens is just too small!

I agree glossy is the best but if you are working by a window or outside you can't see anything because of the sun light. Thats iis its only drawback

the slightest angle reduces the contrast a lot. I don't see this happening on matte screens, it will reduce but not as much as my screen.

I have a truelife wuxga im satisfy with it but however my dell 1905 lcd still looks better than it in terms of screen brightness the lcd is brighter and better to look at. The reason why i don't use my 1905 as often is that its not widescreen and i got used the widescreen.

The high resolution in my opinion is a bit straining to see, but i will probably jump in on a dell 20"+ widescreen ultrasharp lcd when the deals are better to replace my notebook screen.

i have the WUXGA with truelife e1705 and im pretty happy with it. at first i thought the icons and texts were super small but eventually i just got used to it. ditto with the contrast/brightness, it hurt my eyes originally just to look at it but now im completely used to it.

i love the higher resolution because i can easily open multiple programs and access/view them all at once.

Too much light leakage, colors are not vibrant.

Got Truelife glossy and love it, looks great for movies, work etc. Finally took it out in the sun yesterday and it was unusable in outdoor setting due to reflections, so I'll be looking for a clip-on screen to stop that.
