Dell estimated delivery date earlier than DHL's?

I ordered my Inspiron 1525 on 2/1/2008. It was finally shipped today (2/7)...as noted on the Dell order status website. The page states that is was shipped 2/7/2008, and gives an est. delivery of 2/8/2008. Also states that the carrier is DHL and lists a tracking #.

A little suspicious, because I had 3-5 day shipping, I called DHL. The order was received at 12am today (2/7) in Nashville, TN. The woman from DHL stated that my laptop will be delivered on MONDAY 2/11 !!! I asked her if I could pick it up this weekend, and apparently the Chicago DHL isn't open Saturdays.

I called Dell,(just to throw this in-their automated order status (over phone) stated that my order wasn't shipped yet....they must have a great network). I talked to a nice lady who called DHL on my behalf (or so she said). Not much was done, but she did tell me that DHL sent them that delivery date of 2/8 which is listed on my online order status page.

Who do I believe? Chicago is an 8hr drive from Tennesee...so theoretically they could expedite this to arrive at Dell's promised delivery date which is tomorrow. I want to stay in good spirits and, hope that I get my laptop tomorrow...but I have this dreadful feeling that DHL doesn't care about surprising people with efficient early deliveries.

DHL is the one that will have the correct date. Dell doesn't deliver the package, DHL does and they know a schedule like the back of their hand.

 

Thats what I thought...maybe by some miracle...it could arrive tomorrow.
Is there anyone in the Chicago land area that would like to share their DHL shipping timeline experience with me?

If your notebook was shipped from TN to IL, let me know how long it took.

 

It could end up getting there tomorrow. I really think it will. DHL commonly has a lag in their actual shipping position and reporting shipping position and so far the people I have talked to on the phone at DHL have appeared to be making up stuff (I'm serious). Check DHL online tomorrow morning, as I know you will, you might be pleasantly surprised. Now if only you had entered in the correct address on your order.

 

I sure hope so...the DHL truck is is front of my apartment building every day...so why wouldn't they just bring it by...
