I would say if you can afford it, buy it. I bought the 4 yr premium which includes the accident coverage so I don't have to worry about anything. It's your call though.

I guess it would depend on how long you plan to keep the laptop before you upgrade.

I got the same offer and I did get the extended warranty even though I generally never buy extended warranties. I certainly would not have gotten it for a desktop, which I can generally repair. My rationale was as follows:

-Laptops tend to have more malfunctions than a desktop.
-Not all components of a laptop are as easily replaced as a desktop.
-I preferred the next-day, at-home service (rather than the standard mail-in).
-I plan to keep my laptop for at least 4 years.
-I thought the price was reasonable for 4 yrs.

BTW, my offer for $154 was including a $75 mail-in rebate. When I submitted the rebate online, however, it was processed as a $100 rebate. So, I ended up getting the 4-yr warranty for $129, which I think is very reasonable.

I'd go for it. Then if something breaks you are covered. Also the warranties are transferrable so if you sell the laptop then it will add value. Check with Dell on that one though just to be sure. Don't take my word for it.

    $154 is a no brainer..

Price any repair... $154 is cheap.

BTW: is that for mail in, or on site repair?

Which plan are you talking about?

At Home is just for replacing hardware, they won't do any troubleshooting or things like that. More of if your screen dies, someone will come out and replace it.
