I was just wondering anyone know how the work hours are in the dell factories? Do they operate on weekends? Nights? I know it is bad but I don't expect places like Malaysia to have strict labor laws.

I am wondering if they ever update order status on the weekends. Also if I should consider weekends as time it takes for Dell to build a laptop or if i should consider these days as sunk days.

you would think that they work around the clock during this time of the year in order to keep up with demand. chances are they dont count the weekends as build days.

Yup. 24/7. The workers work 12 hour shifts, 7 days a week, switching between day/night shifts once a month. That means once a month, one shift will work a 24 hour shift and one shift will get a whole day off.

    Brutal isn't it.

Yeah, brutal. ESPECIALLY when you consider what they make.

I have no idea what you are talking about.

The title of the thread is such.

I think you are referring to a factory's unit production, which was not what was asked by the OP.
