Don't know much about hard drives other then faster speed means better performance. The i6000 comes with 80Gb 5200 rpm hd. For some moderate game play should i put in the extra $80 for the 60GB 7200 rpm hd? Will the performance be that much more noticable and will the battery life decrease at all?

    Thanks

    first a correction. it's 5400RPM.

the gain in speed is not that significant from 5400 to 7200, so if you'd rather have 20 extra GBs and save your money it's not a bad idea.

as for battery life. 5400RPM and 7200RPM consume almost the same power, there is no notable change in battery life between the two.

have a look at this thread ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=112). there are links to reviews with benchmarks that compare the speed gain between the two.
