Dell SB website has i6000 available with the following:
64MB DDR ATI's MOBILITY RADEON X300 PCI Express x16 Graphics
128MB DDR ATI's MOBILITY RADEON X300 PCI Express x16 Graphics
Dell EPP website has i6000 available with the following (for CeleronM ):
None
Integrated Intel® Media Accelerator 900 Graphics
Why would anyone choose "none"? {The price is the same for each option at Dell EPP.}
Are these video cards better than the integrated video, which is supposed to be pretty good?
How long do you think until the video cards will be available at Dell Home and Dell EPP?

Probably next week. Configuring the same processor and configuration I have from the Home site but just adding the video card is $250 more. I can't justify that price difference just to return mine for a 64 MB video card. Obviously if the price were the same it would be different. Since I don't game, it doesn't matter to me.
The short answer to your questions:
1) Person is not paying attention
2) dedicated is better for power users
3) Next week is my guess

Anyone experienced with Dell customer service, please give some advice.
I would like to order an i6000 thru the Dell EPP site while they have the 34% off President's Day deal, and I would use a $200 stackable coupon that I got from VerizonDSL.
But if Dell EPP has a better deal within a day or two of my order, will they let me call up and adjust my order?
I take it that if I cancel my original order, I will probably lose my 1-time-use VerizonDSL coupon. Is that right?
With the new i6000 video cards and the i9300 coming, there could be some good offers this week. So any advice is appreciated.
Can you help a brother out?!

Dell Home now has the i6000d which has the X300 available.

Dell lets you adjust your order even after the purchase, as I have done. I had no problems but read the fine print, certain promotions cannot be combined.

Ordered an I6K on Sunday. [
] Upgraded today to Pentium 750 (1.86/2MB/533MHz FSB) and 128 X300 without a hitch, once I finally spoke to a person on the phone.
That was the hitch. [!] It took me almost an hour to get through to someone. Waited for 30 minutes, got dropped. Called back waited for 11 minutes again, only to have the Dell rep reroute back through the process. By the time I made the change it was 59 minutes later from when I placed the original call. That is the real knock these days against Dell.[
!]

I don't know if I got a stupid salesperson on the line but he said I couldn't upgrade from the integrated video laptop to the non-integrated video 6000. I do notice on Dell's site that the models have a different name. Inspiron 6000 vs Inspiron 6000d.

They actually cancelled my original order. In effect I placed a new order for the laptop today. Call back cancel your order and place a new one.

TO ARRIVE AT THE TRUTH, WE HAVE TO REASON CORRECTLY. -
I know this is starting to venture off topic but it is pertinent.
I have ordered quite a bit of stuff (desktop for dad, axim and I6K laptop for me) on line from Dell and its a breeze. It was just that when the new technology finally appeared I call to change the I6K order. As has been the subject of other threads, who knows where you'll end up when you call. When I finally got through after 45 minutes, I was talking to a guy in Panama! He was great and actually knew what he was doing. The agonizing wait and being dropped was what really ticked me off. I have been a long time Dell customer, but I am disappointed with their choice on customer service.

Hi Everyone,
I have been following the thread and as soon as the 128MB ATI Mobility Radeon X300Video Card for the i6000 was announced on the Dell Home site, I placed my order as outlined below.
The only Game that I have is Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002. I use to play the original DOOM years ago and maybe would like to upgrade to the latest version of DOOM but I am really not a Gamer. Mostly I will use the i6000 to play DVD's, streaming avi files, and digital photography. I know that the i8600 comes with the 128MB DDR ATI's MOBILITY® RADEON 9600 PROTURBO graphics card and I assume that there will shortly be a i8700 introduced with the same card. I would like to ask if the 128MB ATI Mobility Radeon X300Video Card which I have ordered with the i6000D will be sufficient for my intended use? I am assuming that the x300 be less of a drain on the battery in comparison with the 9600 PROTURBO which is now standard in the i8600, would this be correct? Everything is a matter of trade-offs and I would really appreciate your opinions.
NotebookReview.com is a great site! It has been very helpful. Thanks. []
