    Hey!
I decided to buy this laptop.
I want to use it for gaming.
I dont know if the 512 Mb 533 MHz Dual channel is enough or i will need the 1 Gb 633 MHz but its 175 dollars more!!
Or i can just buy in one of the store.
If i can buy in one of the online store. Which one is the best for it?

    Thx.
    ;)

No, you can buy 2x256 now and replace with one with a single 1GB chip.

Installation in matched pairs of modules is recommended, please order quantity two. Although the memory may be installed one module at a time, the best performance comes from installing in matched pairs of modules.

This is what i found when i looked up in dell.com
Do you think i can buy one 1Gb card and replace one of the 256 and it will work fine?

The performance increase for dual channel memory is small. The important thing is to get more memory.

    Hello to everyone

I am new to this site I am just tryin to configure my future Insp E1705, could you please help?

In respect of installing a 1gb RAM with 256 existing module, could there be compatibility issues?

One question that can seem stupid: I want to buy it with 6cell battery and then to buy additional 9 cell, it costs only 129 USD, when the upgrade from 6 to 9 is 99, not so much difference, and you get additional battery, but will it fit, is there any difference in size?

    Hey!

That was my question too about the 1Gb compatibility with the dell 256.

I think you will make a good deal if you buy the extra 9 cell.
I am not sure i think the 9 cell is a bit bigger at the buttom part.:dell:

The 9 cell has the same size as the standard battery and fits nicely in the bottom of the 9400, it is just a little heavier... (and it fits more cells in the module of course).
