Agreed with A55a55in, I'm not even sure Dell India has a space on their site to enter a coupon? They may have the "promotional code" box which is just a quick shop option.

Phone your order in and try to get a discount. Heck, I'd probably recommend this with any country anyway. Worst case scenario, you don't get any discount, so you place your order online anyway.

The Dell India website gives you terrible rates.
I called the Dell number (1-800-425-4026) and got a sales rep on the phone. I told him what I needed and he gave me suggestions. His rate after tax was a tad bit lesser than the price on the site without tax :-|

In the end, I configed the system online and sent it to him and he gave me an invoice. He had made a few mistakes so I got him to correct those (so please check your invoice before you order).

One issue I had with the ordering thing was that they wouldn't give me 9 cell for the model I wanted (Dell Studio XPS 1640). I believe other countries do provide this battery so I might call them up now and order a separate one.

Another thing was that despite paying about 1600 USD for a laptop, they wouldn't throw in anything other than the laptop cover (a laptop skin made of microfibre cloth or what ever its called). I got no earphones or anything. Also Dell India didn't have any backpacks for this model to order so I had to get them myself ¬¬

PS: I did ask the service rep on the phone about discount codes and he said that Dell India doesn't support them. :)

    Hope this helps ;)
