Hi, is 8gb of memory supported on this model using the pentium n3710? The dell site says 4gb but the help and support system info that comes with the dell says max is 8gb. I have tried to put a 8gb pny memory module in but it didnt get recognized and instead beeped twice and didn't turn on.

Hi, and thanks for your reply. Same speed, 8gb, and pny brand, but i discovered that in the laptop it says "ddr3L only" and that pny memory module i dont believe is ddr3L. So i think that is the issue, not sure if i am going to be able to test that theory out though. For whoever else, make sure its ddr3L (1.35v and 1.5v support) and 1600 speed and 8gb single module.

I will have to keep an eye on that when I do my wife's 11. I want to max out the ram so I have to make sure that is the correct model.

not sure, but putting in 8gb may be a waste of money, the better upgrade is a ssd instead of the slow hd

I am not sure who you are talking to DRFP, but I plan on doing 8gb ram and a 2tb SSD. We are going to be using our computers for a lot of things so lots of storage space is crucial...
