    Hi..

I just bought a Dell Inspiron 1420 from my colleague..my first impression was, this is a great laptop..

Due to some problem with its internal wireless device, I decide to buy a DLink DWL-AG660 wireless cardbus adapter from the net..

When the card arrived, I try to install it & unfortunately, it cant fit in...I google the net & just found out that the AG660 is using a 32 bit pcmcia card bus adapter & my inspiron 1420 is equipped with (maybe) an express card slot..

Is there any solution from this apart from me buying a new wireless card?

Please help me. I've put in a lot of money for this laptop & wireless card... :(

    regards

You can get an Intel WiFi Link 5100 WiFi card for $20 on eBay, and installation is fairly simple.

does it means that I need to buy another card?

Is it possible for me to use back the DWL-Ag660?

That D-Link DWL card uses the PCMCIA interface, and the 1420 only has ExpressCard. In order for that to work, you'd need an ExpressCard to PCMCIA adapter, which would just add even more bulk.

So, yes, you'll need to buy a new card and install it yourself, but like I say, it's relatively inexpensive and easy to install.
