    Hi guys,

I finally got my new 1520 and its great.
However, I have this problem where, when I close the lid, it goes into sleep mode. But when I open the lid back again and try pushing any buttons, it does not come back on. So I had to do a hard restart everytime I close the lid ><

Does anyone know a solution to this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

Check you're power settings bro. You might have it set to hibernate or something when you close the lid. It's all inside the advanced power settings :D

I have this problem sometimes as well, and though I can't offer what the cause of it is, I can assure you that it has nothing to do with the power settings. The laptop stays on (hard disk, wifi, power light, fans, even bluetooth) but the display just won't come back up, as if the screen were actually turned off. If anyone happens to know what may be causing this I would love to know too. Thanks.

Have you guys put any different drivers on the system? Some video drivers cause the display not to come back on after it goes into sleep mode or hibernation.

Did anyone find any answers to the problem? I've got the same issue and have spent 8 HOURS on the phone with Dell... and to no avail. Tech support made sure I had all newest drivers and checked damn near everything else they could think off. And yet the damn thing still goes blank either when I reopen the lid after closing it, or just randomly when I haven't touched the computer for a minute or two. And yeah, the computer is fully functional... I just can't see what's happening.

    Any help would be appreciated!
