I have the strange problem of being able to play red alert 2 when the notebook is plugged in but the game stops working the moment I unplug the laptop.

I was plugging it in and unplugging it and it freezes whenever I unplug it.

Is there some settings I can change to keep the notebook working well enough to play the old game when unplugged?

strangely other newer games continue to work once the laptop is unplugged. it is just red alert 2 that doesn't work.

I switched to high performance mode and it still didn't work when unplugged.

any idea's about what is going on?

I am using vista, have the intergrated graphics card it comes with (the reason I am playing old games) and 3 gig RAM. have no shortage of that.

I am thinking the computer shuts some things down to save battery.
